Lilac Lily Cake

This is the lilac lily cake which I was asked to design for You and Your Wedding Magazine (a national magazine here in the UK). Unfortunately the lily was broken during the photoshoot :o( but I fixed it up in a jiffy and here it is!

Musical Cake!

I designed this monochrome musical cake for a lady who wanted to surprise her partner on his birthday this Saturday.  The gentleman in question is training to be an opera singer so we thought a music themed cake would be perfect!  The couple love chocolate and so I made a two tier chocolate devils foodcake; triple layered with chocolate fudge frosting and white chocolate buttercream frosting.  The top tier was hand piped with treble clefs and the bottom tier musical notes!

Wedding Cake Cookies: spring

I love yellow and white together. I love the fresh springy, vibrant cheeryness of it, it reminds me of sunshine and cool breezes, freshly laundered linen, open windows and lengthening nights.

I made these lovely wedding cake cookie favours for a wedding at the beginning of May. The cookies were lemon flavoured and each was wrapped and tied with a white organza ribbon and placed on a square white side plate, lovely:

The Parc Hotel Wedding Fayre

Many thanks to Marina at Marina Lois Events for inviting iced to be a part of the new Parc Hotel in Cardiff's inaugeral wedding fayre on Sunday. It was a great day and it was a fabulous chance to meet couples preparing for their forthcoming weddings. Our new 'tinycakes' were a big hit (more on these later)!

Cerys' Wedding Photos

A big thank you to Cerys who last week emailed me some of the beautiful images her photographer took of the cake I made for her wedding back in December:

It's so lovely to hear back from couples and to see photographs of the cakes at the centre of the celebration! We work so closely with couples during the design and consultation stage and then in making the cake. More often that not on the day itself couples are busy getting ready (and hopefully enjoying a glass of champagne or two!) so we cake makers rarely get to see their reaction to our work. It means so much when they take time to keep in touch and send photographs!

The move

Thank you for bearing with us whilst we moved from posies and pearls to this new blog. We'd been having a few technical problems with posies and pearls which meant I couldn't load up any new images, it's taken some time but here we are with a new all singing all dancing blog!
